Hanleys Environment Group invites you to join us for a stroll to enjoy the Dawn Chorus, at Hanley Castle.

Birdsong is one of the great joys of spring, and on Saturday morning on 9th May, HEG invite you to enjoy the sounds on a woodland stroll on the Severn End Estate. This means an early start to enjoy the dawn chorus!
By then, the summer visitors will have arrived from Africa, and amongst these the warblers, and we should hear chiff chaffs, black caps, willow warblers, greater and lesser whitethroats. And cuckoos if we are lucky, along with swallows, martins and even swifts overhead. We can also expect to hear calls and songs of at least ten other species which live around us all the year and are bound to be joining the throng.
Enjoy the experience at dawn. Meet at 6 am at Merevale Farm, on the left just north of Hanley Castle on the B4211, by kind permission of the Severn End Estate.
